Scope and Content

The file contains several letters and documents of the correspondence between Carl Albert Loosli and Boris Lifschitz. Lifschitz was a layer in Bern and played an important role in the Bern Trial. During the Bern trial, Boris Lifschitz was instrumental in organizing the prosecution's litigation, but remained in public due to his political obligations. He assisted in the translation of documents of Russian language, which he procured from the archives of the USSR. When, after the trial, several witnesses of the plaintiff's side were covered with lawsuits, he defended them in court. Like he did with C.A Loosli, who was an expert in the Bern trail, appointed by the judge. After the trial he got accused of handling in a false expert statement. Topics of the correspondence are the Leonhard-Loosli trail, the accusation of false statement, authorization given to Lifschitz, general informations about the defence by Lifschitz. Furthermore informations regarding Antisemitism published in newspapers can be seen.
