Scope and Content

The file contains several newspaper clippings published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland regarding informations about the the Bern Trial in the time of 1933-1934. The Völkischer Beobachter, a Nazi newspaper, published several articels regarding the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the Bern trial. These articles report among other things about the 'confession of one Elder of Zion' that the Jews would controll the world. The propaganda machine and anti-Semitic newspaper used the Bern Trail and the anti-Semitic pamphlets for its own purposes, changed the facts or just reported the stories which were fitting into their scheme. Like Fleischhauer's influence in the trial as a key defense organizer of distributors of the book 'the Protocols of the Elders of Zion'. Furthermore a newspaper cutting from a big catholic newspaper in Lucerne explained, how shamefull it is that the National-Socialists had to use papers, which had been proven as incorrect and invented a long time ago and yet in 1933 was again a trial to discuss about the authenticity of those. Other reports entitled as 'anti-Semitism on the dock', argue about the reasons of the trial. Eventhough these 'Schundliteratur' (trashy literature) was sentences as forgery that might instigate crimes by agitation against a minority it did not stop Hitler and his government to use it as school materials. In addition an article based on the victory speech of Chaim Azriel Weizmann, the leader of Zionist Organization, can be seen. Some articles also cover generaly about the Protocols in South Africa, Germany and Switzerland.
