Scope and Content
Documents taken from the State Archive of the Russian Federation concerning key events in the life of Rachkovsky Pyotr Ivanovich (1851-1910). Documents from 1879 describe an accusation against him for possessing Jewish and socialist propaganda and thereby being considered politically unreliable. Documents from 1905, 1910 and 1912 concern Rachkovsky's involvement in the special assignments section of the police department. When posted in Paris he was in charge of deploying a net of agents across Europe that monitored revolutionary activities of Russian dissidents. Also includes a report about Princess Catherine Alexandrovna Yurievskaya.
