Scope and Content
This pamphlet is “intended to be an outline of the story of Yugoslavia and its peoples with particular reference to the struggle for liberation from Nazi Germany”. It provides an overview of ethnicity, religion, history and economy of the region and the creation of the new state in 1918. Political turmoil and outside invasion led to the partition of the country, followed by resistance and the creation of the partisan movement. The role of the communist party is discussed and its implication for the future of Yugoslavia after the war.
