Scope and Content

The publication documents the Polish struggle against the Germans. First in 1939, then during the Ghetto uprising and finally in August 1944 the fighters were left to fend for themselves. Numerous photographs and details about the creation of the Home Front Army provide an overall picture of their heroic fight against a better equipped and ruthless enemy. Daily dispatches by the G.O.C. – Underground Army in Warsaw are reprinted. The report ends with a desperate call for help, especially ammunition, arms, and food. It is dated September 1st, 1944.
