Scope and Content

The pamphlet from 1936 provides two options: Hitler – which means war, or Thälmann – which means peace. Through various examples and quotes the author describes the discrepancies of propaganda and real life in Nazi Germany with a strong pro-communist undertone, supported by writings of the communist politician Ernst Thälmann. The question if war can be avoided remains unanswered. The international campaign to free Thälmann is subject of the second part of the pamphlet.
