Scope and Content

The booklet written in French gives an overview of resistance movements in Italy during Fascism and later Nazi occupation. Acts of sabotage and armed struggle in various Italian locations are described, mainly from 1943 onwards. The structure of the partisan army is explained, the details of allied assistance are provided, and the difficulties encountered by the resistance are analyzed. During 1944 the fight became more organized, larger in scale and more successful. Casualties are listed and Italians fighting in the French army are given acknowledgment. The price of human life during these years is estimated at 33.000.
