Scope and Content

"The drawings in this book by a British soldier-artist bring home the unending struggle which the men and women of the oppressed nations of Europe are carrying on against their uneasy "conquerors." Daily, patriots escape to Great Britain to carry on the fight in the open. Upon their stories the illustrations in this book are based. It is not within the scope of this book to describe the gallant deeds of the patriots of occupied China and occupied Russia. Their brave exploits are gratefully acknowledged by every fighter in the underground war for freedom."--Page (2) of cover. The publication is a heroic summary of resistance organizations all over Europe with various illustrations. Each occupied county and its underground activities are listed. A collage of newspaper headlines depicts atrocities committed by the Nazis and resulting and acts of resistance in various European countries. The text of the publication is meant to inspire and give hope that the Nazis will soon be defeated and Europe be freed.
