Kohányi Sámuel, zeneszerző, szül. Csabóczon (Zemplén vm.) 1824 ápr. 15., megh. 1905. júl. 5. 1837-ben jött Budapestre, ahol a Nemzeti Zenede növendéke volt. 1846-ban tanár lett. Sokszáz gyerekdalt komponált. A gyereknevelés terén sok érdeme van. 1 pallium.
