Informs that Martin has been released from imprisonment and is now engaged to Esti Drucker, the wedding to be on the 7 December. Comments on the difficult living conditions in Vienna, particularly acute for those in "intellectual work". Also comments on the failing of Austrian industry and the depreciation of money. Their normal "small" diet is described, as is the valuable aid they have received from the wealthy Eli [Bernays].

He lists items of food, which he asks Sam to send via the English military mission at Vienna. Will send a photograph taken by Max [not present].
