Accordingly, Joyce Weiner had four fascinating conversations with, in turn, Feuchtwanger, Thomas and Heinrich Mann and Arnold Zweig, each of whom received her courteously and cordially. She was, incidentally, at that moment in time, the one journalist from England who had had the privilege of an interview though there had been articles in the French press.
