Biographical History

Dr Marcus Melchior (1897-1969) was a Danish-German rabbi. Acting as Chief rabbi of Denmark since 1943 he played a key role in the rescue of Danish and German Jews from the Holocaust.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding an information request by Melchior on H. G. Adler, and an information request by The Wiener Library on Danish-Austrian journalist Christine von Kohl and her father.
