Biographical History

Marlborough Fine Art is a London based art gallery business, founded in 1946 by two Jewish-Austrian refugees. Today, Marlborough Gallery is one of the most successful and important art gallery businesses in the world, holding outposts in Madrid, Barcelona and in New York.

Scope and Content

After being approached by the Library’s outreach and fundraising manager, Elli Kamm, the correspondence centres on potential financial support by the Marlborough Fine Art gallery. More precisely, the option of devoting the proceeds of an upcoming van Gogh exhibition to The Wiener Library is discussed. Contained is a list of high profile associates of the Library who would be invited to the exhibition’s vernissage.
