Biographical History

Hans Ludin was a German merchant who had lived in Riga for two decades. He left the city in 1940 and emigrated later at some point to Venezuela.

Scope and Content

The letters concern an enquiry by Ludin for the acquisition of three books related to the destruction of the Jewry in Riga during the Second World War. Additionally, contained is an information request by a third person on receipts that had been issued in the Theresienstadt Ghetto.
