Biographical History

Dr Julius Loewy was a British dental surgeon of Jewish-German descent. Before emigrating to England he had been imprisoned in Sachsenhausen concentration camp in the wake of the November Pogrom 1938.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding a published history of the Jewish-German student fraternity Freie Schlagende Verbindung Salia from Würzburg, of which Loewy had been a member; the Jewry of Loewy’s hometown Hofgeismar; and the contribution of an eyewitness account for The Wiener Library’s eyewitness testimony project.
