Biographical History

Kurt J. Loewenstein was a U.S. American lawyer of Jewish-German descent. Before his emigration he had been a member of the Centralverein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens (C.V.).

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding a letter on German Jewry Alfred Wiener had published in the magazine Congress Weekly in 1955. Included are reflections on the relations of German and Eastern European Jewry in the United States.
