Biographical History

Prof. Dr. Albert Lewkowitz (1883-1954) was a German philosopher, rabbi, and Holocaust survivor. After the Second World War he settled in Israel. See Walk, J., Kurzbiographien zur Geschichte der Juden 1918-1945, Munich et.al., K. G. Saur, 1988, p. 233.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding birthday wishes, an article Lewkowitz intended to publish in the AJR Information, and a letter of condolence by Alfred Wiener to the family after Lewkowitz had passed away. Contained are some handwritten letters.
