Biographical History

Werner H. Lesser was a Jewish-German merchant and engineer. Originally from Bentschen (now Zbąszyń, Poland) he was personally known to Alfred Wiener. When the Nazis came to power Lesser and his family emigrated to Brazil.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding the exchange of information about the personal situation as well as some common acquaintances; the whereabouts of Lesser’s uncle; and a restitution related enquiry on a former mortgage of Lesser in Bentschen. Beside letters an undated photo card showing the Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro is contained.
