Biographical History

A Landgericht (LG) is a regional court for ordinary jurisdiction in the states of Germany. It serves as mid-level court for private as well as for criminal law. Moreover, the hearing of restitution cases was and still is assigned to its remit.

Scope and Content

For a criminal proceeding and on instigation of former inmate Edmund Hünigen the correspondence centres on the consignment of archival material about Flossenbürg concentration camp to the Weiden district attorney. In the centre of the investigation was Ludwig Baumgartner, adjutant in the concentration camps Auschwitz and Flossenbürg.
