Biographical History

A Landgericht (LG) is a district court for ordinary jurisdiction in the federal states of Germany. As such, it serves as mid-level court for private and criminal law. The hearing of restitution cases as well as criminal proceedings of Nazi perpetrators are assigned to its remit.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding information requests related to individual restitution cases heard at the LG Koblenz. The requests concern the persecution of Jews in Croatia, Slovakia, Serbia, German occupied territories in Poland, the General Government, the Soviet Union, Romania, Macedonia and Bulgaria, and regard mainly the labeling obligation for Jews.
