Biographical History

A Landgericht (LG) is a district court for ordinary jurisdiction in the federal states of Germany. As such, it serves as mid-level court for private and criminal law. The hearing of restitution cases as well as criminal proceedings of Nazi perpetrators are assigned to its remit.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding information requests related to individual restitution cases as well as the prosecution of a Nazi perpetrator heard at the LG Darmstadt. The requests concern the persecution of Jews in Kielce and Siedlce, the internment of Jews in camps, and the deportation of Jews married to non-Jews.
