Biographical History

A Landgericht (LG) is a district court for ordinary jurisdiction in the federal states of Germany. As such, it serves as mid-level court for private and criminal law. The hearing of restitution cases as well as criminal proceedings of Nazi perpetrators are assigned to its remit.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding various information requests related to individual restitution cases heard at the LG Berlin. These requests concern Italian internment camps in Montechiarugolo and Civitella del Tronto, the expropriation of Jewish assets in Hungary, Yugoslavia, Slovakia, and Poland.
