Biographical History

Erich Kulka (born Erich Schoen; 1911-1995) was an Israeli historian, writer and Holocaust survivor of Czech origin. Together with Ota Kraus he published several books on the Holocaust . He was the father of regarded historian Otto Dov Kulka.

Scope and Content

Containing letters to Kulka exclusively the correspondence regards the exchange of published as well as archival material, mainly on Auschwitz and the SS-physician Carl Clauberg, and the discussion of several research related details. Furthermore, Kulka’s involvement in The Wiener Library’s eyewitness testimony project is also reflected including the provision of his own account as well as the compilation and consignment of several others reports from Czechoslovakian survivors.
