Biographical History

Ruth Körner (born Elisabeth Friederike Theresia Schwarz; 1908-1995) was a Jewish-Austrian writer and journalist.

Scope and Content

Comprising handwritten and typewritten letters as well as some post cards the correspondence regards articles Körner contributed to The Wiener Library’s Bulletin as well as a piece about the Library she had authored for an Austrian pamphlet. A draft of this article is contained. Furthermore, Körner’s activities as interviewer for the Library’s eyewitness testimony project is also documented in the correspondence.
