Prof. Dr. Lionel Edmond Kochan (1922-2005) was Jewish-British journalist and historian of European and Jewish history. He had started his academic career with a study of the November Pogrom 1938, written on commission of The Wiener Library (1957).
Scope and Content
The correspondence’s first part (1954-1958) centres on the employment of Kochan by The Wiener Library’s research department, the writing of his study on the November Pogrom 1938, and its publishing. From 1958 on a second part focuses predominantly on the exchange of published material, and Kochan's contributions to The Wiener Library’s Bulletin. The latter included various history related articles and reviews.
