The university in Leipzig is Germany’s second oldest university. It was named after Karl Marx from 1953-91.

Correspondence with the Department of German History regarding the exchange of publications between the two institutions. Included is an inquiry by Professor Walter Bartel, anti-Nazi resistance fighter and survivor of Buchenwald concentration camp, concerning the receipt of certain press cuttings about Buchenwald.
