Biographical History

The Imperial War Museum (IWM) is a British national museum organisation with its headquarters in London. Opened in 1920 it is among the world’s leading war museums.

Scope and Content

The correspondence centres on mutual information requests on various topics including among others: the sinking of the SS Cap Arcona and the SS Thielbeck as well as the German politicians and antifascists Erich Ollenhauer and Waldemar von Knoeringen. The two latter were subject of an enquiry by British far right political figure A. F. X. Baron.
