Biographical History

Prof. Dr. Josef Rudolf Höfer (1896-1976) was a German Catholic priest, theologist, and university scholar. He also served as adviser to the West German Ambassador to the Vatican Holy.

Scope and Content

Correspondence on various subjects including exchange and discussion of materials; recognition of the anti-Nazi credentials of a German bishop; Alfred Rosenberg's Der Mythus des 20. Jahrhunderts; personal account of the Novemberpogrom in Münster (1954) and the search for further related church material; discussion of some current affairs, including the death of Pope Pius XII and anti-Semitic incidents in West Germany (1960). Contained is a catholic brochure.
