Wolf Heidenfeld (1911-1981) was a Jewish-German chess player who had emigrated to South Africa in the mid-1930s. After the war he moved back to Europe, living in Frankfurt am Main as well as in Ireland. He was an old friend of Wiener Library staff member C. C. Aronsfeld
