Biographical History

Prof. Dr. Agnes Headlam-Morley (1902-1986) was a British historian, and the first woman to be appointed a chair at Oxford University.

Scope and Content

Comprising handwritten and typewritten letters the correspondence concerns a visit of Headlam-Morley’s at The Wiener Library and her membership, a thank you note for her support of a grant application, and a debate about a statement on an annual passion play in Bavarian town Oberammergau she planned to publish in the Library’s Bulletin.
