Biographical History

Thomas Christoph Harlan (1929-2010) was a German author and director. He was the son of actor and director Veit Harlan, director of the anti-Semite propaganda movie Jud Süβ. Between 1960-64 Harlan worked intensively on a book project about German war crimes and war criminals.

Scope and Content

The correspondence documents the research assistance The Wiener Library provided Harlan with in the early 1960s. The letters deal with numerous requests by the latter for certain source material or information on a large amount of Germans involved in Nazi crimes.
