Biographical History

Karl Guggenheim was a Jewish-German banker and World War One veteran from Worms. After being imprisoned in Buchenwald concentration camp in the wake of the November Pogrom 1938 he had emigrated to Chile. He was the brother of Siegfried Guggenheim.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding the exchange of published material (mainly printed works from Chile), and a Wiener Library Bulletin article compiled from an account by Guggenheim. Contained are two letters in Spanish, and a brief poem-like draft of a scenery from Buchenwald concentration camp in November 1938.
