Biographical History

Mark Goulden (1898-1980) was a Jewish-British journalist and publisher. He was one of the first British publishers to warn openly of the rise of National Socialism. See Goulden, M., Mark My Words! The Memoirs of a Journalist/Publisher, London, W.H. Allen, 1978.

Scope and Content

The letters concern Goulden’s temporary The Wiener Library membership and its cancellation respectively, the latter with regards to the Library’s political attitude towards Germany.
