Biographical History

Dr. Max Gottschalk (1889-1976) was a Belgian Jewish community leader of German descent. He worked for numerous Jewish organisations and had widely supported Jewish refugees from Germany and Austria in the 1930s.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding the exchange of published and unpublished material, and an enquiry by The Wiener Library for assistance in gathering eyewitness accounts in Belgium for its eyewitness testimony project.
