Prof. Dr. Hans Dietrich Goldschmidt (1914-1998) was a German sociologist and educational researcher. Beside his academic work he campaigned intensively for Jewish-Christian dialogue and for coming to terms with the past in West Germany.

Documenting the close association between Goldschmidt and the Library the correspondence focuses on the gathering and exchange of published and unpublished material, the discussion of contemporary history and current affairs, and the exchange of personal information. Contained are manuscripts, a postcard, and certain statistics.
