Biographical History

In the aftermath of the Holocaust numerous local and regional active Gesellschaften für Christlich-Jüdische Zusammenarbeit (societies for Christian-Jewish cooperation) had been established throughout postwar (West) Germany. They are invested in Jewish-Christian collaboration and the fight of Antisemitism, and are represented in the umbrella organisation Deutscher Koordinierungsrat der Gesellschaft für Christlich-Jüdische Zusammenarbeit.

Scope and Content

Correspondence with various chapters of the Gesellschaft für Christlich-Jüdische Zusammenarbeit and on various topics including:

Berlin (1955-63): published and unpublished information material, the participation of Alfred Wiener and Eva Reichmann at a board meeting, and an enquiry on an unknown institution.

Cologne (1959): invitation for a public talk given by Wiener.

Hanover (1959): receipt and payment details for a periodical.

Kassel (1959): an upcoming conference and the options of the participation of Wiener or Reichmann.

Munich (1956-58): a public talk by Wiener in Munich, and an invitation to the society’s annual conference. Contained are a flyer, a minute of another conference, and two manuscript copies of talks given at this conference.

Münster (1955-60): a public talk by Wiener, and a request for another one.

Münster-Dortmund: a public talk by Wiener at a conference 1955.

Nuremberg-Fürth (1955): the mailing of an issue of a periodical. The mentioned issue is contained.

Offenbach (1958-59): conferences and address details.

Stuttgart (1959-60): requests for a public talk.
