Founded in 1959, the Germania Judaica in Cologne is special library for the history of German Jews.
Scope and Content
The correspondence documents the establishment of the Germania Judaica (GJ), the exchange and assistance with the purchase of books, a brief debate about anti-Semitic incidents in Cologne and West Germany 1959/1960, and Alfred Wiener’s role and involvement as member of the advisory board of the GJ. Contained are Wiener Library memos, GJ circulars and annual reviews (1962-63), minutes of an advisory board meeting (1963), and few not dated items.
