Biographical History

Dr Bruno Frei (born Benedikt Freistadt, 1897-1988) was an Austrian leftwing author and editor. After being interned in France he survived the Second World War in exile in Mexico. He later returned to Vienna.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding the exchanget of materials. This refers especially to the Library’s efforts to support Frei’s research and publication project on German pacifist, Nazi victim and laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize, Carl von Ossietzky.
