Biographical History

The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) is a high-profile national newspaper from Germany. The liberal-conservative paper had been founded in 1949.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding articles Alfred Wiener had published (on the Centralverein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens, 1953), submitted (on the opening of a German Cultural Institute in London, 1958), or offered to write (on the Nazi boycott of Jewish businesses, 1958). Furthermore, a meeting with a FAZ journalist in Bonn and his impressions from a trip to Arabian countries are addressed (1961).
