Biographical History

Samson Fischer was a Holocaust survivor who had been imprisoned in the concentration camps Buchenwald and Sachsenhausen. Originally from Pressburg (now Bratislava, Slovakia) he lived in Munich since 1950.

Scope and Content

The correspondence documents the personal efforts of Fischer to support prosecution of certain Nazi perpetrators, especially Franz Karmasin, a Nazi leader in Slovakia. After having met Simon Wiesenthal Fischer keeps the Library posted about his activities, requests copies of source materials, and asks to reach out to Yad Vashem for further substantiation.
