Biographical History
The Fédération Internationale des Résistants (FIR) is an international umbrella organisation of several associations of former anti-Nazi resistance fighters. Founded in 1951 in Vienna the headquarters of the left wing organization are located in Berlin today.
Scope and Content
Correspondence regarding the exchange of publications, an upcoming FIR conference, a letter of condolence for FIR’s late honorary president and Buchenwald survivor Henri Manhès, and a press statement against postwar Fascism triggered by a wave of antisemitic incidents in West Germany 1959/1960. Additionally, an enquiry by an individual not related to FIR for using the Library’s material is contained.
