Biographical History

Founded in 1946 the Westfälische Rundschau (WR) is a regional daily newspaper covering the west of Germany. Walter Poller, a survivor of Buchenwald concentration camp, served as long-term chief editor in the post war era.

Scope and Content

Correspondence with Walter Poller regarding a press campaign against Franz von Papen, a comment of Alfred Wiener on a WR article about West German president Theodor Heuss visiting The Wiener Library, and photographs for a new edition of Poller’s book about his imprisonment in Buchenwald.
