Biographical History

Prof. Dr. Gotthold Eliakim Weil (1882-1960) was an Israeli orientalist, philologist and librarian of German origin. He had emigrated to Palestine in 1935. For many years Weil held the position as director of the National Library at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. See Walk, J., Kurzbiographien zur Geschichte der Juden 1918-1945, Munich et.al., K. G. Correspondence regarding books and birthday notes. Contained are three postcards and, following Weil's passing, an obituary.
