Biographical History

Hilde Walter (1895-1976) was a Jewish-German journalist from Berlin. When the Nazis seized power she emigrated to France and to the U.S. subsequently. As correspondent for the American Council on Germany Walter returned to Berlin in the 1950s. In 1965 she was presented the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
