Biographical History
Established in 1908, the VSJF is an association of several local Jewish welfare services in Switzerland. During the Nazi era it became the country's central refugee organisation for Jews from Germany. After the Second World War it dealt with issues of recovery of Holocaust survivors (among them a group of child survivors from Buchenwald concentration camp), immigration and restitution.
