Biographical History
Established in 1948 the United Restitution Organisation (URO) was an international organisation under private law. Its remit was to provide legal aid service for the restitution claims of victims of the Nazi persecution living outside Germany.
Scope and Content
Correspondence regarding restitution related enquiries on individual fates as well as on certain or regional aspects of the Nazi persecution and expropriation of Jews (partly including the postwar era); a visit of state officials from North-Rhine Westphalia at The Wiener Library; and the sending of published and unpublished information material.
