Prof. Dr. Karl Thieme (1902-1963) was a Christian German historian who had been dismissed from university by the Nazis and had to emigrate later. In the post-war era he played an eminent role in the Christian-Jewish dialogue in West Germany.
Scope and Content
Correspondence on several subjects including research on the history of German Jewry, the exchange of published material, and the Dokumentenwerk project, a planned edition of documents on the Nazi persecution of Jews The Wiener Library and some German partners were working on. Contained are some memos.
