Biographical History

The Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD; Social Democratic Party) is a centre-left political party in Germany and one of the country’s two major contemporary parties. A London branch by the name Vereinigung deutscher Sozialdemokraten in Großbritannien was established by Exiles in 1945.
