Biographical History

Established in 1912, the South African Jewish Board of Deputies is the representative body of the majority of South African Jewry.

Scope and Content

Correspondence on various subjects including among others: support of the Library’s funding; anti-Semitic leaflets by Scandinavian anti-Semite Einar Aberg and distributed by R. K. Rudman; exchange of materials; an enquiry for material on British fascist Oswald Mosely, related with a libel case in South Africa; or German extreme right activist Peter Kleist journalist. Contained is further a brief correspondence with the Council of Natal Jewry on the display of a Warsaw Ghetto exhibition (1960-61).
