Biographical History
Gerald Reitlinger (1900-1978) was a British (art) historian. He is most known for his works his study ‘The Final Solution’, published in 1954. As one of the first comprehensive studies on the Holocaust it was widely regarded as a reference book on the subject.

Documenting The Wiener Library’s support of Reitlinger’s research the correspondence deals with a variety of issues including: the fate of certain Nazi war criminals; deportations from Italy; Margarethe Himmler; reviews etc. of Reitlinger's study The Final Solution; and articles submitted by Reitlinger for the Wiener Library Bulletin.
